This lengthy overview of different laws, regulations and processes shows one thing for sure: adoption is a long and complicated process. Not every couple willing to adopt is able to bring home a child – far from it! But why is that? Why are adoption systems not constantly revised and updated to promote adoption as a go-to solution? Why are parents/mothers that choose to give away their child still seen as bad parents, when in reality this means that they give their child a chance for a life filled with opportunities they themselves could not provide?

And let’s also stop viewing parents considering placing their child for adoption as neglective parents and see them as what they are: real life heroes that gave their child the best chance they had available!
